A Tarte-Ful Tuesday Face of the Day With the New Tarte Double Duty Beauty Collection, Makeup Revolution, Dior and More... - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Today was one of those days when I sat down to go ready, and I wanted to switch things up but still keep information technology casual.
Enter: navy blue.
I've got a red-orange bawdy palette happening naturally, and I really like how navy blue brings out the brightness in my optics.
Perchance my jumper inspired it; perchance I just similar to be two-toned. Nosotros may never know! 🙂
Then right now we demand to talk about the new foundations in the Tarte Double Duty Dazzler drove at Ulta. I recently tried the Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation ($39), a medium-to-full coverage foundation that promises to smooth, plump, blur, and moisturize for up to 12 hours. Recommended application is with this Double Duty Beauty Foundation Castor & Spatula ($30).
I tried the lightest shade (fair-light neutral), and it's much as well dark for me… I look tan! Other than that, my feel has been a pretty positive one. I don't love foundations that come in a pot, but the spatula definitely helps. The foundation brush applies an appropriate amount of production and blends it out to a flawless finish.
During my testing, I was able to build up the coverage in sure spots and still maintain that flawless stop, too, but I have normal-philharmonic skin that'due south overall very easy to deal with. Thankfully, the foundation didn't break up on me or settle into any fine lines I have.
Before setting information technology with a pulverisation, I did notice that my pores were pretty accentuated, only using a pulverisation nipped that right in the bud.
I as well gave the Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation ($35) a go, but since the foundation proved to exist likewise nighttime, I tried light beige around the perimeters of my confront equally a bronzer. I can't attest to its strengths and/or weaknesses as a foundation, but I love it for nose contouring! It's subtle only effective.
I really like the brush its paired with! Information technology's great for all-over powder awarding and for bronzer. The sponge on the other cease comes off, and I'm not really sure why. It's not the nicest sponge, only information technology does apply the product evenly and with the most coverage, I'd say.
Overall, I think this is a solid collection, but I experience shorted by brands that sell things separately that are meant to become together. For instance, if I didn't have the foundation brush and spatula, I'm not sure I would have had the same feel or enjoyed using Double Duty Beauty Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation as much. The 2 only seem like they belong together.
If yous're interested, the Tarte Double Duty collection is an Ulta exclusive, and it's bachelor now.
Here are the products I'yard wearing in this expect…
- Diorskin Nude Tan Healthy Glow Enhancing Pulverisation Tye Dye Edition ($57) — I really didn't remember much of this the showtime time I opened information technology. It doesn't expect life-changing in the pan, but my mom always told me to just try things on considering you lot never know what you might detect!
So, I put it on my face, and hither we are a calendar month later! We're pretty committed now.
It looks natural on my complexion, which is rare. It's got a subtle glow to it, but when applied to the face it reads every bit a glow from within. It gives a healthy flush, and it'due south like shooting fish in a barrel go along sheer, or build upwardly for more drama.
- Velvet 59 Matte to the Max Liquid Lipstick in Kai-Lea ($20) — I think we all know who this is inspired by, but I'grand non hating. I really really enjoy this formula and shade. I like rosey-mauve shades because they're so versatile. They can give y'all a kicking of color without the commitment of a deeper tone like a red or berry.
On my lips, this formula feels light. Information technology is matte and does dry out my lips out throughout the mean solar day, simplyc'est la vie when you're wearing a matte formula. Information technology's easy to employ and doesn't dry out my lips out any more than they already were. Sold.
- 100% Pure Cosmetics Luminating Créme in Starlight ($25) — I'm a broken record, I know. But this stuff is then good. It's not glittery, and it has a doe-foot applicator, which is actually applied. Starlight is a white gold and should suit a ton of skin tones out in that location.
- Makeup Revolution Essential Day to Night Redemption Eye Shadow Palette ($vii) — Today I wore the navy blueish shade (second from the right) as a liner!
I like looking at this palette, but it's ever difficult for me to effigy out what to do with a palette that has cipher matte shades. I'thousand not sure why that'due south a thing…
Most of these shadows are difficult to do complete looks with, as their blendability is express (in my feel, anyway). Normally when I take a shadow, and I honey the color only don't experience like I can pull it off in a blended look, I'll just use it as liner using some MAC Fix+, which helps the shadows stick, ups the pigmentation, and in this instance makes information technology even more metal. That'due south what I did with the navy blue here.
- PÃœR Cosmetics Browder in Blonde ($22) — Brows. They can actually brand or pause a look you lot know?
I've always had a catchy time with my brows because they aren't the aforementioned color every bit my hair. I take dark brown eyebrow hairs, but if I use a matching pencil, they're way besides dark for my overall complexion. And if I fill them in with something more auburn in tone, my face just looks…off.
When I start opened Browder I was…intrigued. It looks messy and like it may be hard to apply precisely, but I was wrong! It's and then piece of cake to use. With Browder I rarely feel like I've overfilled my brows. The production is easy to use and lasts all day. My just gripe is the shade range… I have pretty nighttime brows for my complexion, and the lightest shade is what suits me best.
There are only three shades! That'south non off-white. I don't like that.
- Tarte Double Duty Beauty Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara & Waterproof Lesser Lash Mascara ($21) — A pretty staple mascara, at present with a bottom lash version on the other stop! I especially beloved the lesser lash version for when I'm not wearing much (if any) eyeshadow on the lower lash line and want to ascertain my lashes.
I likewise really like As well Faced Better Than Sex, merely that stuff gets everywhere! I still love it to pieces simply don't reach for it on days when I desire my heart makeup to exist really clean and fresh.
Do you have a look you become for that's pretty close to your go-to but a picayune…spicier? ?
